This book is a fantastic resource to use with kids of different ages and abilities. The vibrant illustrations are beautiful and will help any kid attend to the story. I've already shared this with mom friends and colleagues plus I'm hoping to incorporate it in trainings I run on self-regulation for elementary students and their teachers. I believe strongly is because of Covid and not being able to go back to his normal lifestyle. (School, playing soccer, karate and doing all the things that right now aren’t open where we live). As well, we had a baby and now that baby brother is able to crawl, grab(destroy) and put things in his mouth has gotten him upset very easily. I like how this book teaches him and is effective in any environment no matter the age. Recommend it! *when I read it I inputted the names of him as Riley and his brother as Parker. He has an anger issue and he's only 2 and he very attentively listened and watched when we read this. Love it and have recommended it on my IG book account to others with kids with anger management challenges. The tips at the end of the book are awesome too. She (5) loves to read this with me and we often talk about the easy strategies to use. I've worked with toddler aged children alot and find alot of the behavioral books to be too dumbed down, more than they need to be. Kids are smart. I think this book is great. He recently has started acting out when he does not get his way, which I know is common. However, he hits softly, kicks and pushing things over because he can not understand and/or vocalize his emotions yet. This book was written and illustrated in a way that he could grasp. It allowed us to relate Riley’s feelings back to an incident my son just had. The activities were a great transition into us acting out taking deep breathes, counting and wiggling around to help him calm down like Riley did. Just what I was looking for a definitely recommend. Listened for long enough to get the story and wants to read it over and over to point out the different types of dinosaurs.
